Well, this is a really weird feeling. Why do I feel like I'll never belong? They all make it seem like it's some exclusive club but there's literally millions and millions of members. It just seems pretty arbitrary that I, well hell, my entire city be excluded. We've come so close before, and yeah I know close doesn't count. I feel like I may be doomed to forever be an apologist for mediocrity. I know I have no control, and the entire balance hinges on mechanisms I, frankly, could never have a hand in. So why does it feel so damn personal? Why do I have such a connection? And what if I did ever get what I was after? Would things be different? Would it change my identity?
